The History of Northfield Retirement Community

The Northfield Retirement Community is situated on a beautifully landscaped 30-acre campus.  Established in 1969, we haven’t wavered from our goal of providing housing and care designed to meet the physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs of older adults.

Housing options on our campus are varied; newly constructed town homes and apartments give independent seniors the active lifestyle they desire.  If you are in the market for an apartment, we have two different options, one is market rate while the others are available for those on a limited income.  For individuals requiring other levels of service and care, we provide other living arrangements including individualized forms of housing with services, memory care and skilled nursing care.

We are proud to have maintained a long-standing affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as a Social Ministry Organization.  Northfield Retirement Community is a not-for-profit organization which allows us to direct all of our resources toward helping enrich the lives of all our residents.

The corporate membership of our organization includes several area churches representing a multi-denominational focus of the Northfield area.  The governing body, Board of Directors, is comprised of representatives from churches who make up our corporate membership.

For more than thirty-five years, the Northfield Retirement Community has prided itself in offering a comfortable and healthy living environment dedicated to meeting the special needs and desires of older adults.  Our staff of concerned and caring, trained professionals ensures you, your family and loved ones a comfortable atmosphere while maintaining a safe and supportive Christian environment.
