Your Church and Northfield Retirement Community

NRC was founded by Northfield area churches. In doing so, a covenant was created between the community and its churches.

Northfield Retirement Community is partnered in ministry with 20 Christian congregations in the Cannon Valley Area. Each congregation is represented by up to three delegates who serve as liaisons between their churches and NRC. Persons interested in representing their church should contact their board delegate (your church office will know who that is) or call Joan Stoesz, Administrative Assistant, at (507) 664-3480.  Delegates serve for a period of one year and can renew their commitment annually if they wish.

The primary responsibilities of a delegate are:

1. Support Northfield Retirement Community's mission.
2. Share information about Northfield Retirement Community with your congregation, committees, church council, senior ministry groups, etc.
3. Attend the spring and fall delegate meetings and the corporate annual meeting at Northfield Retirement Community.
4. Elect Northfield Retirement Community’s Board of Directors and vote on any bylaws changes.
5. Represent your church and any senior issues in discussions with Northfield Retirement Community and other church delegates.

Anyone who is interested in advocating for Northfield Retirement Community and senior ministry at your church should consider becoming a delegate. 

Friendship and Faith

Both involve risk and adventure, opening doors we've never walked through.  Both require careful tending in order to grow and thrive.  And, when we take the risk and make the effort, both satisfy and surprise, leading us to the joy of community with others and with God.
Care Team Ministry contains the precious gifts of friendship and faith.  Volunteers nurture relationships with members of the congregation.  Out of that demonstration of kindness and compassion, faith grows.  And the community is strengthened.
